Shut Off Systems
for Hazardous Gases Such as Chlorine (Cl2)
About Chlorine
Chlorine is a greenish yellow gas with a sharp irritating odor at standard temperature and pressure. Exposure to Chlorine can cause eye, skin, throat and lung irritation. In sufficient quantities, it can burn the lungs and result in death.
Chlorine is used in the manufacture of bleach, pharmaceuticals and for water purification. It is shipped in 150# cylinders, ton containers, both having 660 type valves, and in pressurized tank cars with angle plug valves.
Prevent Accidental Release of Chlorine
Powell's Emergency Gas Shut Off Valve Closure Systems are designed to prevent significant releases of hazardous gases like chlorine. In the case of an accidental release, the emergency valve closure system will close the valves in 10 seconds or less, effectively preventing further release from the container.
